FENG SHUI (Wind Water)
"All substance and form is energy. It is yin and yang. The motion of the
sun, moon, and stars, everything that emerges and dissolves. It is the
clouds, the mist, the fog and moisture. The heart of all living beings, all
growth and development is energy."
--Lu Yen, Chinese philosopher and naturalist The universe is a vast field of energy. Feng Shui (pronounced "fung shway" ) is the study of that energy and its relationship to the human body. Through careful study and observations, it became clear that the human body has magnetic properties. Our body is part of and is effected by the earth's magnetic field and flow. We each have this energetic or magnetic flow that extends beyond our physical being. It is sometimes called an "Aura." Authentic Feng Shui practitioners do not follow a series of fixed rules, but instead rely on an understanding of patterns and movements of energy and its interaction with an individual. The forces of energy (Qi) can work to our advantage or disadvantage. Observing the formation of mountains, growth of tress, flow of water, movement of wind and the patterns of light and dark, the Feng Shui practitioner will place ones house, rooms, doors and windows, furniture and themselves in a favorable relationship to the energy flow to derive maximize benefit.
