Meditation There are many types of meditation, most of which are used for relaxation purposes. In the Emei system, meditation is considered the highest form of Qi Gong which, when done correctly, leads one towards wisdom, enlightenment and spirituality.
Meditation is an exercise of the mind. Therefore, the point of meditation is to slowly and gradually awaken the nature of the mind. To clear away the confusion of our ordinary mind unlocks its grand potential.
Since meditation is a form of Qigong exercise, it is governed by its three aspects: Breathing Mind Focusing Body Posture Here is a list of techniques to begin Emei meditation: Tongue on roof of mouth Right thumb into left palm. Turn left hand over thumb and right hand over left hand. Place both hands palm down by your first dantian (below belly button) Keep lower back straight Relax your shoulders and chest Natural, deep breaths between ten and eighteen times per minute (the fewer the better). Mind focus with eyes closed, should be on the light in front of your third eye. The emphasis of Emei Qigong meditation is on the mind. Focus on emptying subconscious thought and seek to view the light that shines in the front of your third eye or mind's eye.
